The paper and the waitlist

We store the email address you give us for the newsletter and your name if you choose to share it. Delivery starts after you confirm your email.

If you join the podcast waitlist, we store your email, optional name and the date of your request so we can email you when the paid plan opens. Joining does not subscribe you to the newspaper, create a paid plan or charge you. To leave the waitlist, contact taskentbusiness@gmail.com.

Your account and podcast

Member accounts store your name, email, a hashed password and your chosen topics. Personal podcasts use your preferred name, pronunciation and interests to prepare your briefing. OpenAI prepares the script from your preferred name, pronunciation hint and selected news facts. Google Gemini generates one or two synthetic voices from that script, according to your chosen format. The selection of stories reflects your interests.

Recordings are stored in a private Supabase bucket. Your account or private podcast link grants access to your three free recordings. Further paid recordings require a current subscription. Keep your feed link private and replace it from your reading desk if it is shared.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are not open yet. Saving your preferences or joining the waitlist does not charge you. When payments are available, Stripe will handle them; card details will not be stored in our database.

Your email choices

Email is delivered through Resend when enabled. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link. Briefing-ready emails have a separate opt-out and can be disabled in your profile.

If you later start a paid plan, unsubscribing from email will not cancel it. You will manage the plan separately from your reading desk.

Cookies and usage counts

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and browser storage to remember an unfinished briefing profile.

We keep daily counts of page visits, sample plays, signup steps and subscriptions to understand where the service is useful. These counters contain no email, account identifier or browsing history. Browser events are counted once per tab using session storage; Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable them. Operational subscription and delivery totals still come from the records needed to provide the service.
